5 Years Strong

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Today marks the 5 year anniversary of the Asbury Park Education Association’s website! Over the past 5 years we have done our best to keep membership informed with local, state and nationwide educational issues that impact all of us in the profession.

Between this website, our Twitter feed and a 300+ member email list we have been able to keep members more informed than ever before. With the many ups and downs all of us have experienced we have been a constant outlet for information that matters to us all.

Here’s to another 5 years!

APEA Fundraiser for Firefighter Jason Fazio

Friday, February 25th, 2011

The Asbury Park Education Association Philanthropic Fund, in conjunction with Chico’s House of Jazz and the Asbury Park Education Association will be holding a fundraiser on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, N.J. The Fund will be donating a large portion of the proceeds from the evening’s event to one of Asbury Park’s bravest, Jason Fazio, who was severely burned while battling a fire in January.  Jason has risked his life for over 17 years, and it is only fitting that the APEA Philanthropic Fund and Chico’s House of Jazz give back to one of our own.

Read more on the APEA Philanthropic Fundraiser for Firefighter Jason Fazio page.

AsburyParkEA.net 4 Year Anniversary!

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Today is the four year anniversary of AsburyParkEA.net! Over the past four years during the ups and downs of our schools, association & profession we hope that this website has been a reliable resource for everyone who uses it.

The most recent change has been a slight graphical facelift to the pages that should work better with today’s screen sizes. We have also added a Twitter feed that sends out a tweet everytime the website is updated. We hope you will make use of this.

As always, questions and comments are welcome. Send them to me at: PdotErricoatAsburyParkEAdotnet  (PdotErricoatAsburyParkEAdotnet)  . It’s your website, let us know what you think!

Website Update: APBOE District Calendar RSS Feed

Monday, January 25th, 2010

To make it easier for membership to keep up with the happenings in our district during these critical times I have added a widget that lists info from the Asbury Park School District website calendar . (Via the calendar’s RSS feed, if you were wondering)

You can see it down on the right with the title APBOE Calendar. As the district calendar is updated this feed will automatically reflect that. I hope this adds more usability to the website.

As always if you like this and want to see more additions, or think of something we could add but haven’t yet please let me know either by email or adding a comment with the link down below.

Follow AsburyParkEA on Twitter!

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

In an effort to try and make the Asbury Park Education Association website that much more accessible we have signed up AsburyParkEA on Twitter. For the time being “tweets” will be sent out whenever the webpage is updated, typically once or twice a week, maybe we will expand if needed. So if you are already on Twitter, follow us! If not, now is the perfect time to join.

Follow the link above or use the APEA On Twitter box on the right side of the page to find our feed and follow us! With contract negotiations, budget & staffing issues this is a good time to be in touch 24/7 via the web, email and text messaging. Twitter manages to do all of this.

If this proves popular maybe we could move into some Facebook integration.
